It was R.K.O. Radio Pictures' intention to release their Jane Russell epic Underwater! as the first Superscope presentation but United Artists had the Harold Hecht-Burt Lancaster production of Vera Cruz in theatres before R.K.O. was ready with their film. This demonstration aperture card, provided through the courtesy of John N. Whittle, was supplied to theatres in late 1954 and illustrates the basics of the Superscope anamorphic process.
