Jack Warner's
Different
Wide Screen System

Emotions were running rampant in early 1953. Paramount was pouting about Fox not selling them half of the CinemaScope business and Jack Warner was pissed that he'd missed acquiring Chretien's anamorphic system by a single day. Paramount shuffled their feet and began to tell everyone how terrible CinemaScope was but Jack Warner put his people to work designing a system that was completely identical to CinemaScope.

This is a four page trade ad that Warner Bros. released in August, 1953, two months before the first public showing of CinemaScope. Following the last page we'll make a comparison of the specifications of WarnerSuperScope versus CinemaScope and see just how different they were.
