After the intermission title fades, close the scrim and wait
five seconds before bringing up the house lights. Part I ends on a
highly spiritual and emotional scene, and suddenly flooding the
theatre with light would be most unwelcome to the audience.
After three minutes of intermission music played on the
house phonograph, house lights should be dimmed and scrim opened.
The scrim should be full-open and house lights down before the
image appears on the screen at the start of the second part.
The end title of "THE TEN COMMANDMENTS" carries a nine-word
message, and the scrim should not be closed until this title has
completely faded out. After the scrim is closed, wait five seconds
before opening the house lights.
