ENGINEERING BULLETIN #3

SOUND SPECIFICATIONS

 

(1) All power amplifiers and pre-amplifiers shall meet the following minimum requirements:

(a) 50-8,000 cps flat within plus or minus 1-1/2 dB.
40-12,000 CPS flat plus or minus 3 dB.

(b) Cross talk between channels - minus 50 dB,

(c) Wow and/or flutter not to exceed 0.2 of one per cent in a band width between 2-200 cycles.

(d) Pre-amplifier distortion not to exceed one per cent when operated at a level of 12 dB above the level from the magnetic film recorded at three per cent distortion.

(e) Power amplifier distortion not to exceed two per cent at rated output of the amplifier between 50 and 12,000 CPS.

(2) Four pre-amplifiers with 4 or 6 or 8 power amplifiers, meeting the above specifications will be required.
